about Alex Belden:
Zen Jazz is the best way to describe Alex Belden’s Solo Piano genre. He looks to the vast infinite universe, listens, then performs an aural translation of all the harmonic and melodic ideas that flow through the universal consciousness. He sees newness and freshness in everything and everybody. This healing perspective allows the listener to take their own imaginative journey through space. Pianist Alex Belden was born in Northern California and has resided in the Pacific Northwest for 50 years. Currently he is living and composing music next to the Mississippi river in Southern Illinois. He has several albums, among them Phases, Athena’s Robe and Seattle.
Iskandar Soekardi graduated from the Creative Writing school at San Francisco State University. For two decades, he hosted Inside Fez, an ambient and poetic soundscape, on KAZU. He has performed around the world with two chapbooks, Grove Green and Gift.
