Jacob Duran (Jayadeva das) 

Jacob was born in Ventura and grew up in the Ojai Valley. He began playing music in 1989. His musical path guided him to immerse himself in Indian classical music & ragas, vocals and the language of mantra: Sanskrit. He has been leading Kirtan for more than 20 years. Highly respected among many musicians, he is considered to be a teacher of teachers in the mantra music world in the west. When Jacob received the name Jayadeva das from a master artist in a prominent bhakti-yoga lineage in 2018, this ignited a new chapter of stepping into this humbling role of sharing this refined music offering.
